Iraq donates an artwork of Faik Al-Aboudi, Iraq for Peace, to the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO)

He is definitely getting more and more well-deserved international recognition, the talented Swiss-Iraqi artist Mr Faik Al-Aboudi. After UNESCO in Paris last year, it was now the turn to the World International Property Organization (WIPO) to receive a painting entitled Iraq for Peace.


The artwork was donated in an official ceremony at the WIPO headquarters by the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Prof Dr Ahmed Fakkak Al-Badrani, to World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Director General Daren Tang to adorn the wall under the name Iraq of Peace.


His Excellency Mr Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, Iraqi Prime Minister, is the first one to take the initiative of giving artwork symbolizing peace to an international organization. The first one to receive an art work was UNESCO in Paris, in 2023, when an art work of Faik Al-Aboudi was donated. To learn more about Faik Al-Aboudi, the rising start we invite you to read the interview he so kindly granted us in February 2024.
