A ce jour, seulement 56 pour cent des besoins ont été financés. 18,7 millions de personnes sont actuellement victimes ou risquent d’être victimes d’insécurité alimentaire dans les pays suivants: le Burkina Faso, le Tchad, la Mauritanie, le Mali, le Niger, la Gambie, le Sénégal, le nord du Cameroun et le nord du Nigeria. L’UNICEF estime que plus d’un million d’enfants de moins de cinq ans auront à souffrir de malnutrition sévère au Sahel, dont un tiers d’entre eux au Niger.
